The artist
Catherine Dow, Scottish wild life artist renowned for her accomplished modeling ability and scrupulous eye for detail.
Catherine was born and raised on a Perth shire hill farm, deep in the scenic heart of Scotland.
As a youngster she had a particular affinity with cats and horses. She could always to be found with a
pencil behind one ear and a sketch book in her pocket. The book was crammed full of drawings of the animals which she encountered each day on an around the farm.
After leaving school Catherine naturally went on to graduate from Dundee College of Art.
Her talents were soon recognized when she was commissioned by the Royal Mail to illustrate a collection of stamps. Impressed by her high standards of quality and dedication she worked on numerous private commissions which involved creating sculptures for notable limited edition houses
including Brooks and Bentley, Wild track, Crompton and Wood house, etc.
Catherine is now able, for the first time, to create an original sculpture from your brief and supervise the painting every one of her own sculptures in the edition. Thus ensuring that her impeccable standards and attention for detail are translated onto each and every piece. Now you can commission your very own stunning limited edition of a true to life hand painted artwork.
Imagine if you can, the skill , patience and weeks of dedication required by the artist to sculpt every tiny detail into each of her magnificent sculptures.
These sculpting skills are then backed up by the hours taken to meticulously hand paint the sculpture in true to life color to recreate the true likeness in every detail.
The demand for the work of this remarkable artist is growing rapidly and individual commissions now have to be booked well in advance of the project.
