Resin Casting - cold cast polyester resin castings of replica model figurines.

Resin casting.

The majority of our resin castings for replica model figurines are made from a 50/50 mixture of unsaturated polyester resins and calcium carbonate reacted with an organic peroxide catalyst.
Our castings are made by vacuum processing. The filled mold is placed in a vacuum chamber to remove all of the air which is trapped in the mold.

White polyester casting resin .. is the material which is most pleasing to the artist who wants to paint the cast sculpture. In its plain state the model is like white porcelain and can be painted with any paint that does not require an absorbent surface. All of our replica castings are surface etched to give a ready to paint surface. In some situations when painting with oil based paint the surface is left without etching. Traditional Cold Cast Bronze .. until about 10 years ago cold cast bronze was made from a mix of 60% bronze metal powder mixed with polyester resin. Today the use of this material is limited because of the cost.

Resin Bronze .. this material has replaced the cold cast bronze. It looks exactly the same but it is very much lighter in weight. The process bonds a very thin skin of bronze metal powder onto the surface of the model, so when polished it gives a bronze effect to the surface of the casting without the expense of a high metal content.

Special Requirements .. our production can be flexible, if you require a specific resin casting mix then we will try our best to accommodate you.
